We’re so excited to take you on a virtual tour of the Gourmet Ghetto in Berkeley, a place that is near and dear to my heart. During my four harried years as an undergrad at UC Berkeley, I spent many a weekend wandering the streets of Gourmet Ghetto. Whether it was picking a pastry from Cheeseboard or enjoying the sunny weather at Imperial Tea Court, the Gourmet Ghetto always had something for everyone. Come take a look!
Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto Mini Guide
1. Mission Heirloom: A completely paleo restaurant with a gorgeous greenhouse in the back for dining! The chicken and waffle is definitely a must-try.
2. Tigerlily: This swanky bar features a robust cocktail menu and small bites with a Northern Indian twist. The Vine. St. Reviver is a favorite!
3. Imperial Tea Court: Enjoy a fusion dim sum menu at the Imperial Tea Court, a hidden gem that’s right off the main street. Depending on the weather, dine on their delectable assortment of dim sum inside or in their patio.
4. Cheese Board Pizza and Bakery: A Berkeley favorite! This pizzeria offers a daily menu, where fresh and seasonal ingredients are key. Don’t forget to try their delicious green sauce. I love heading to the bakery to pick up fresh cheese and pastries as well.
