Although the Bay Area is known for fabulous weather, San Francisco has a mind of its own. One day it’ll be glorious– bright blue skies, warm sun, and not a care in the world. The next day, it’s foggy, gray, and storming like the world’s ending.
So it makes sense that us San Franciscans usually have a pair of rain boots. Back in the day, I used to have a pair of $20 American Eagle rain boots that were really quite precious, but horribly uncomfortable. They were stiff, restrictive, and bulky. Needless to say, they didn’t hang around long.
Next, I moved on to these sweet Jeffrey Campbell ankle rain boots. I love ankle boots, and now they come in rain boot form!
I was pretty excited. Light, simple, and black, they should match with everything, right? Wrong. In the end, I looked like I was Robin Hood. They made me look like I had elf feet. While I still have these boots (4 years later), I only wear them rarely. Surprisingly, elf feet are not my thang.
Now, I’ve fallen in lust again, with a new pair of rain boots. I believe that this pair merges the good of the two pairs mentioned above, and they’re foldable to boot (pun intended)!
These foldable Japanese rain boots from Kaufman Mercantile are chic, classy, and easy to wear. Now, the only problem is how to justify spending $129 on a pair of rain boots…
